Hotwire hotels in Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas

This area includes the heart of Cabo San Lucas, the Marina, and the hotels on the west side of the Arco.  This is a great area for travelers who want to be in the action.  Most hotels in this area are not located directly on the beach.  It is a very affordable area that is easy walking distance to most sites and attractions throughout Cabo.  One of the most popular hotels in this area is the Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos and the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort.  These are not the same hotel even though they have similar names.

Cabo San Lucas East

Immediately adjacent to the heart of Cabo San Lucas is the area, “Cabo San Lucas East”.  This zone is stretches across Medano Beach and where the daytime action is.  Plenty of room on the beach, calm waters and lots of bars and restaurants.  Of course, there are plenty of local vendors selling there goods as well.  If you are looking for a beach resort and want to be in the heart of Cabo, this is the area you want to book.  Just be sure to book a hotel on Hotwire that shows the amenity “Beachfront hotel”.  Otherwise, your hotel will not be immediately on the beach and you will likely have to walk to the beach.

The Corridor – North and South

The Corridor is the stretch of highway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose.  Littered along this stretch of highway are some great resorts.  These resorts are typically high end (4 stars or better) and there are many all-inclusive resorts in this area.  The hotels are fairly isolated however.  If you are going to be staying in one of these areas, you may feel stranded unless you have access to a rental car or do not mind taking the bus.  The hotels here are usually cliffside, built up on a bluff with the beach just a short distance away.

If you are thinking about renting a car in Mexico, this article is a must read.  The premise:  many car rental agencies will blatantly try to rip you off.

The Corridor South area is ideal about 10 minutes drive from Cabo.  One of the great Hotwire hotels in this area is the Welk Resort Sirena Del Mar, which appreas on Hotwire as a 4-star hotel and offers 1 bedroom suites.

The Corridor North area is quite remove from Cabo, about 25 to 30 minutes away.  However, it is closes to the airport and just a short distance from San Jose del Cabo.

San Jose del Cabo

This area covers the main town of San Jose, which is a little more subdued than Cabo but has many great merits.  Less congested and fewer spring breakers here, it is a nice reprieve from the hustle of Cabo.  Like other areas, look for a hotel with “beachfront” amenity on Hotwire.  Otherwise, you could be as far as half a mile away from the beach.
