I only had 2 rejected bids and I did the entire process from the computer room at the hotel the day before I checked in. I had friends who were staying at the same hotel who'd gotten a deal of $150/night before travelling.

This hotel had recently been renovated before our arrival.
It took me awhile to find this deal (because I'd had 12 rejected bids before the one acceptance finally happened).

I'm one of those travellers who refuses to stay in anything less than a 3 star hotel in NYC. So I started bidding at $100 with a 3 star rating in Midtown East.

My next bid after that was for $105, 3 star rating in both Midtown East & Midtown West. I kept adding areas where there was no 3 or 3.5 star hotels (and increasing my price) until I got this deal.

Today I got the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for a great low price of $130. I am very happy about this winning bid. I saw the Waldorf on the hotel list but thought my chances of getting this hotel are slim to none since it hadn't come up for a while. To my surprise, it did come up, and I am so happy about this win. Of course I used the PRICELINE line on the right hand side before bidding.

I will be arriving at this hotel on 05/21/2011 and leaving on 05/22/2011.

This small, narrow hotel is in the meatpacking district, about 6 or so blocks to Penn Station. There is paid parking in a commercial lot nearby. Free breakfast. Tiny room.

Expensive dates it seems. I tried bidding on several zones for a higher class hotel but did not have luck with any of them. Well, c'est la vie. Had to settle for Days Hotel Broadway NYC. Thanks for the amazing site. I used the Priceline link when bidding.

We have already booked tickets to go to New York from May 15th to May 20th of this year. We are not picky when it comes to an area, as long as it is central. For the priceline bid I have included quite some areas:

- Chelsea Area
- Empire State Building Area
- Hell's Kitchen
- Madison Square Garden
- Midtown East
- Midtown West
- Queensborough Bridge
- Times Square
- Upper Westside

For a 3,5 star hotel I have placed a bid of $140 per night. Unfortunately, Priceline was still not able to offer me a hotel for that price. Should I wait, change my search criteria or increase the price slightly? Any suggestions of what I should do are welcome. If anyone thinks th

i go to new york city a lot for work. all those areas are expensive during the month of may its simply because its closer to summer time. i suggest you wait and keep bidding until you get the right amount you want. remember off peak travel season are a lot cheaper.
