{"id":190,"date":"2016-07-16T16:24:02","date_gmt":"2016-07-16T23:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hoteldealsrevealed.com\/blog\/?p=190"},"modified":"2018-01-13T18:03:56","modified_gmt":"2018-01-14T02:03:56","slug":"priceline-real-winning-hotel-bids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hoteldealsrevealed.com\/blog\/priceline-real-winning-hotel-bids\/","title":{"rendered":"Priceline &#8220;Real Winning Hotel Bids&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HotelDealsRevealed.com\u00a0is a community-based website where people reveal their Priceline winning bids. \u00a0The purpose of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoteldealsrevealed.com\/forum\/\" target=\"_blank\">this forums<\/a> is to help Priceline customers determine what price to bid and assist users identify their hotel. \u00a0In brief, we are trying to help people become better bidding travelers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_192\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-192\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-192 img-responsive img-resp-blog\" title=\"Priceline Real Winning Bids\" src=\"http:\/\/hoteldealsrevealed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Screen-shot-2011-07-16-at-9.20.29-AM1-300x225.png\" alt=\"Priceline Real Winning Bids\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hoteldealsrevealed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Screen-shot-2011-07-16-at-9.20.29-AM1-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hoteldealsrevealed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Screen-shot-2011-07-16-at-9.20.29-AM1.png 481w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-192\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Priceline Real Winning Bids<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Better Bidding:\u00a0 This is pretty helpful for hotel bidding.\u00a0 Knowing the price others paid for a hotel reservation in a particular bidding zone and area can be useful when using Priceline. \u00a0Unfortunately, what Priceline does not show you is the date(s) of purchase and the hotel received.<\/p>\n<p>The reason dates are so important is because hotel prices fluctuate wildly. \u00a0For example, weekend rates for hotels can be double or even triple mid-week rates. \u00a0So while Priceline may show recent winning hotel bids, they could be mid-week rates and you&#8217;re bidding for weekend rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Priceline doesn&#8217;t reveal the name of the hotel either. \u00a0While some people do not mind this, I personally like to try to identify my hotel (or at a minimum know what hotel I might receive). \u00a0Using Las Vegas as another example, if you bid on a 4-star hotel in the &#8220;Strip Vicinity South&#8221; zone, you might end up with the Westin, a long 2 blocks away from the Strip.
