Las Vegas 24 Hour Buffet Pass

The Las Vegas 24 hour buffet pass is a deal that lets you visit select buffets as often as you like within a 24 hour period. For just $50, its worth it for those travellers wishing to eat at 2 or more buffets during their stay in Vegas.

How It Works – Overview

Known as “the Buffet of Buffets”, the this pass lets you eat as often as you like within 24 hours. The clock starts ticking once you are issued your pass.  You may visit the buffets listed below as often as you wish until the pass expires.  The following buffets are included:

  • Paradise Garden Buffet at the Flamingo
  • Flavors Buffet at Harrah’s
  • Le Village Buffet at Paris
  • Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood
  • Carnival World Buffet at the Rio

For an additional fee, pass holders may also visit these buffets:

  • Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar’s Palace:  This is considered one of the best buffets in the world, let alone in Las Vegas. The add-on fee for pass holders to eat at the Bacchanal Buffet is $15 for breakfast, $25 for lunch, and $30 for dinner.  This will only save you $11 for breakfast or lunch and about $20 on dinner.
  • The Village Seafood Buffet at the Rio is an extra $15 per visit.

Price of the Las Vegas 24 Hour Buffet Pass

The cost is $50 plus tax for weekdays and $70 for weekends.  Weekends start at 11am on Friday and go until 11 am on Sunday.  Total Reward members only pay $65 on weekends.  Its free to become a Total Rewards member, so weekend visitors to Las Vegas might want to consider becoming a member to save $5.

Purchasing a pass is easy.  They can be purchased at any of the Total Rewards desks in the casinos, except Plan Hollywood for some reason. They can also be purchased from the cashier at the buffets themselves. Total Rewards members will use their membership cards to gain access to the buffet.  If you are not a member, they will issue you a wrist band. Yet another reason to sign up for Total Rewards… avoid having to wear a wrist band.

Maximizing Usage of Your 24-Hours

Most pass holders are able to squeeze 4 meals out of the pass.  For example, some have a late dinner on day 1, then breakfast, lunch and early dinner on day 2.  If you are going for a late dinner, its best to arrive 1 hour before the buffet closes to ensure you have enough time to enjoy your meal.  Most buffets close at 10:00 pm, so plan on a 9:00 pm arrival.

I actually read one poster on Yelp who was able to squeeze in 5 meals during a 24 hour period.  10 am, 2 pm, 6pm, 10pm, and 9:30 am the next day.  Its difficult not to feel obliged to eat all you can during the 24-hour period, but I do not recommend this.  You are already getting a deal by gaining access to 4 (or 5) buffet meals in one 24 hour period.  This is sufficient. There is no need to consumer an entire days worth of calories in one sitting.  So instead of having 2 or 3 plates of food and dessert, try eating lighter and enjoy your meals.

Avoiding Lines

Especially on weekends, the buffets will have line-ups to get in. Sometimes these can be an hour or longer.  A simple way to avoid the line is to make a reservation. You can reserve online through the buffets’ website or via OpenTable.  It is especially important to do this if your final meal is getting close to the expiry time. You do not want to be standing in line while the pass expires.

Additional information about the pass can be found on the Total Rewards website.

Saving Money on Vegas Hotels

Travelers to Vegas should consider booking their hotel accommodation on ‘blind booking’ sites like Hotwire and Priceline.  Hotels that have excess capacity sell off their rooms to these sites because they would rather fill them with guests than have them go vacant. At the same time, they do not want others to know how low their prices are. Hotwire and Priceline do not reveal their hotel until after you purchase. However, there is a way to reveal your hotel using the site HotelDealsRevealed.com.
