Comments: Travelling for my sons 18th birthday to Paris, we wanted to splash out on a 5 star hotel and where else can one do that without breaking the bank but through Priceline. The hotel for our dates are between $420 to $500 per night on various websites.
After 3 rebids decided to check the express deals which 5* came up for $170 per night. Tried again for one last rebid at $155 and still nothing, and with the dollar to the pounds at a very good rate of almost $2 to 1, I decided to go for it and got the Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero Hotel which from all accounts seem like a really good hotel. So Paris here we come

Comments: I really wanted a 5* and bid in several areas up to $200 with no luck. I then resigned myself to 4*.
I saw an Express Deal for what I think is the Hyatt Regence Paris Etiole for $124. I bid $80, no luck. Then upped it to $95 and got this hotel.
The hotel lists its rate at this time at 201 euros, or about $270 a night, so I am reasonably pleased.
There are mixed reviews about this hotel online, some of which say it is the equivalent of a 1* or 2*. Also, the cocktails at the bar are $35. But we will see. I e-mailed the hotel to request an upgraded/renovated room, so we will see what comes of it.
